Bigfoot & Aliens, together at last!
In honor of tonight's (3/23/2012) special Ancient Aliens program, I've thrown together a little Tableau Viz comparing (on a wicked high level) UFO sightings versus Bigfoot sightings. Enlightening? You be the judge. UPDATE: I added video of the episode down below the viz.
It looks like if you live in California or Washington State - you are either very blessed with special being visits OR you've got the most crazy people in the whole friggin' country.
Bigfoot data comes from here, and UFO data comes from the "National UFO Reporting Center" (and there was a sh*tload of it). All screen-scraped in true data-hoarder style. This is just for fun, hence the goofy monster heads. Enjoy!
Why do I love this viz? Because upon looking at it, you know exactly what I'm talking about and what everything means. There is very little that needs to be explained. The end-user does not need to be "nudged" toward any particular control or interaction. Things behave how you would expect.
Not the best episode ever. But hey, whatever.
